The Author's Biography

Depressed by life's futility, Robert Livingston became suicidal as a young teenager. Fortunately, an older sister who had found Christ invited him to a Christian concert. There, at the age of fifteen, he surrendered his life to the Lord Jesus Christ. He was instantly overwhelmed by the reality of God's presence, love, and forgiveness. He determined to live his life for the One who rescued him.

While in college, he earnestly sought God for his life's calling. Through the ministry of Keith Green, and prayer, he gradually became convinced that God was calling him into missions to unreached peoples. During this time he also met and married his wife of eighteen years. While going to college, he lived on the international student dorm. It was here that he grew to know and love many foreign Muslim students. He also helped start a campus ministry at Albany State University which later became the local BASIC (Brothers and Sisters in Christ) chapter. After college he served in his local church helping with evangelistic events, leading home Bible studies and teaching adult Sunday school.

Eventually, he and his family went to the Middle East. They became fluent in the language and served as Church planters of the first church in a city of more than a million souls. After his son experienced health problems, they returned to the United States. Since then he has continued serving in missions. Today he teaches on missions and other subjects. He continues to lead short-term outreaches into the Muslim world and speak to churches and groups about Islam and missions to unreached peoples. He has been interviewed on Christian Television Network's The Herman and Sharron Bailey Show and has also been on numerous radio programs including the David Allen Show. He encourages the Church to risk all to bring the love of Jesus Christ to those who have yet to hear about Him.
